NATE is More Than a Boy’s Name

|

The pool of qualified HVAC technicians has shrunken over the years. Many companies hire “technicians” that are simply not qualified, causing a variety of problems for the customer from repeat service calls to more serious problems such as property damage or worse yet, bodily injury. North American Technician Excellence (NATE) is the largest nonprofit certification organization for HVAC technicians, yet still many companies do not spend the time or money to have their technicians certified.

When you’re in need of AC service make sure to request a NATE Certified technician. There is no industry requirement for a technician to be certified, only the company has to be licensed. This means you can and likely might have an unqualified technician show up at your door to work on a piece of equipment that is worth thousands of dollars. You wouldn’t let an inexperienced person work on your car. Why do that with your air conditioner?

Fewer than 12% of HVAC technicians are NATE certified. Choose a company that promotes NATE certification for all of their technicians and installers. What’s the likelihood that you’ll get one of the 12% unless you ask? If you find yourself in need of AC service we’re always here to help…and to show you our NATE certifications.
